CBI Connections - August 2017

Dear Conscious Business Community,

What makes a community? In alignment with the definition of community, we are people living together on this planet, being in fellowship with each other, sharing common attitudes, interests and goals to raise the consciousness through business.

We are a stronger, mutually-supportive community the more freely communication flows among us. CBI Connections is an open channel for sharing our appreciation of conscious business and inquiring how we might play a bigger role in expanding its consciousness.

I am grateful to be leading the Conscious Business Initiative and welcome your sharing in this community. We desire to highlight and celebrate the many ways we're making an impact and we're eager to have you contribute. Join us on October 24th, 2017 for the next Global Oneness Day! Mark your calendar for this annual event.

This year's event includes a Conscious Business Evolution panel (4:30 to 5:30 pm Pacific). You'll hear from distinguished conscious business leaders about key principles and practices that can help change agents and leaders reinvent their organizations. Hosted by Kristin Vesa, Senior Director, CBI, the panel will include:

• Lance Secretan. His firm, The Secretan Center, Inc., is ranked #1 in the world as an international Leadership Consulting firm by Leadership Excellence.
• Marilyn Tam, Ph.D. is a Speaker, Author, Consultant, Board Certified Executive/Corporate Coach, CEO of Marilyn Tam & Co. and Founder and Executive Director of Us Foundation.
• Ozioma Egwuonwu is a best-selling author and internationally celebrated speaker, writer, teacher and transformational leader. She is the CEO of BurnBrightInternational, a global consultancy dedicated to helping individuals, businesses, and communities reach their full potential.
• Raj Sisodia is a founding member of the Conscious Capitalism movement and FW Olin Distinguished Professor of Global Business and Whole Foods Market Research Scholar in Conscious Capitalism at Babson College. He is also the Co-Founder and Co-Chairman of Conscious Capitalism, Inc.

Over the past several months, we have been making an intentional effort to increase CBI's social media activity. To that end we encourage you to participate in the CBI Facebook group. Start a new conversation, contribute to existing conversations, and share news items of interest.

New this fall, look for our first 6-week online self-paced course. The self-paced format is designed to accommodate students' busy schedules by allowing you to access the content when its most convenient for you. The launch date for the course will be communicated in the September edition of CBI Connections.

The Conscious Business Change Agent (CBCA) Training and Certification Program is underway for 2017. Conscious Business Change Agents are professionals who have the expertise to guide companies - either as a leader within a firm or as a consultant - through the transformation process to become a conscious business. The next year-long program will begin in January 2018. If you're interested in enrolling for the 2018 program, please email cbisupport@humanitysteam.org.

To truly thrive as a conscious business professionals, we need to support each other. This is the purpose of the CBI Community of Practice (CoP).

In addition to the various forums, presentations, and presence circles in the CoP, we recently launched a daily 11-minute conscious business meditation.

Join us each day at 11 AM Eastern Time U.S., in the CBI Facebook group (https://www.facebook.com/groups/221536451516420), where the session is broadcast. Can't make it live? No problem. All sessions are archived in the group feed so that you can access any day's meditation whenever it's convenient.
