CBI Connections - November 2017

Are you enjoying the harvest or the springtime? Both bring forth the abundance of nature. I would like to thank all of you who participated in Global Oneness Day. It was a day of celebrating the ever increasing awareness and skills needed to consciously evolve ourselves and our organizations. The replay is available: www.globalonenesssummit.org. I offer this as a way that may support you in self-renewal and patience in knowing how many others are involved in this work, around the planet, at this time.

The human body can survive for various amounts of days and weeks without water or food, respectively. However, without air, the duration of human survival comes down to minutes. In this respect, we might say that oxygen is our most necessary and fundamental source of nourishment.

That said, I offer up as a deeper truth that human existence and flourishing depend most fundamentally on Presence. However you refer to it -- as God, Spirit, the Divine, Infinite Mind, etc. -- without Presence, we would not be conscious nor human. Our bodies are animated, we think, we create, and we make meaning of life only by the power of Presence. Separate Presence from human existence and humans cease to exist.

Though this is an irrevocable truth, we humans often forget or deny the Presence in various aspects of life, notably in business. Throughout my many years working in the corporate realm, my experience of the prevailing attitude has been that business is a power onto itself versus acknowledging there is a power greater than itself.

This denial of Presence in the activity of business has and continues to be a detriment to human flourishing on planet Earth. And where Presence is rejected, the poisoning of those other elements necessary to our survival -- air, water, and food -- is quickened.

In the practice of conscious business, humanity's ultimate hope and wholeness are centered in the truth of Presence. As conscious business change agents, we understand that our businesses flourish only when we align with the evolutionary movement of Presence. In accepting Presence as our omnipresent partner, we go beyond the love of business and regard ourselves foremost as being in the business of Love.

The CBI Facebook group recently passed the 400 member milestone! We are blessed to have so many conscious business people as members.

These have been recorded by members of the community for our daily 11-minute meditation series, which happens over Facebook Live each weekday morning at 11 AM Eastern U.S. time. Even if you're not able to join us live, you can always listen to the recording of that day's - or any day's - meditation for centering and inspiration.

Upcoming Self-Paced Courses

CBI's self-paced courses - such as INspired Practices for Conscious Business - will launch in the new year. We continue to listen to your suggestions and are taking our time to ensure that the courses fully support the practical application of conscious business methodologies. When the courses are ready for registration, we'll inform you in a future edition of CBI Connections newsletter.

The Conscious Business Change Agent (CBCA) Training and Certification Program 

The 2017 program is will soon be coming to an end with the current cohort graduating this month. Their next step will be to pursue credentialing as Certified CBCAs (Conscious Business Change Agents). Certified CBCAs are professionals who have the expertise to guide companies - either as a leader within a firm or as a consultant - through the transformation process to become a conscious business.

CBI is enthusiastic as we prepare to pilot our consulting offering with our first client, Sunrise Ranch in Colorado.

With the generous help and expertise of a team of CBCAs, we developed a beta version of a Conscious Business Assessment Tool, developed a process of guiding a client through it, and will send a team to work with Sunrise Ranch onsite in early December.

We are excited about the potential for CBI's consulting offering to fully support businesses in enhancing their awareness of the fourth "P" -- Presence -- in their leadership and operations. We'll continue to provide updates on the progress of building out the consulting offering and sharing the lessons we learn from our engagement with Sunrise Ranch in future editions of CBI Connections.

Conscious Capitalism and Bringing the Sacred to Business

Steve Farrell made a presentation on conscious business to a group of 25 financial executives in Denver, Colorado on October 27. Steve said, "Conscious Capitalism was new to the audience, but they were very interested in bringing the Sacred to business." Several of the executives who attended subsequently reached out to Steve about creating similar presentations for other business audiences.
